What is included in a gutter cleaning?
We take the leaves and debris out by hand, then run water through every downspout to confirm it actually drains. A gutter that looks clean from the ladder does little good if the downspout under it is packed solid.

What happens if gutters are not cleaned?
A clogged gutter cannot carry water to the downspout, so the water spills over the edge or backs up toward the roof. Over time that sends water down the siding and into the soil next to the foundation, which is the opposite of what a gutter is for.
In a Colorado winter, water trapped in a clogged gutter freezes. The ice adds weight to the gutter and keeps snowmelt from draining during freeze and thaw cycles. Clearing the gutters in late fall removes the debris that holds that water in place.
When should gutters be cleaned in Colorado?
Late fall, after the leaves have dropped, is the cleaning that matters most. A second visit in spring, before the heavy storms, keeps water flowing through the wet season. If your property has a lot of trees close to the roofline, plan on more.
